about

MYSTIC TIMBRE 026

The Forsaken Dead II played on Anticipating Nowhere | Mystic Timbre Tapes Special (mixcloud.com/SimmoMaz/anticipating-nowhere-mystic-timbre-tapes-special/)

"R0[nought] has gone above and beyond in conceiving a terrifying dark ambient album that empowers the listener to open their imagination (and fears) to conceive a story that conceptualizes the music. Although there are many forms of dark ambient, Pestis is extremely bleak and frightful and is slightly more dismal than your typical ambient recording." - David Loveless, The Dungeon in Deep Space (thedungeonindeepspace.com/2020/02/06/r0nought-transmit-caustic-drone-sequences-on-dismal-dark-ambient-album-pestis/)

R0[nought]'s Pestis is the black mass residing in the gut of the rat flea, a dark ambient requiem for the human host. Caustic drones, scratching electronics, clanking metal-on-metal, enveloping soundscapes, and cacophonous crescendos evoke the devastating pestilential creep as the bacterium rushes to the lymph nodes to multiply and spread throughout the blood stream. Whereby the blood-filled cough of one's neighbor signaled the end come, darkness arrives, and leaves behind no life in its treading wake.
